With a colorful food culture, Guangdong’s Zhongshan has the title of “famous city of Cantonese cuisine in China”, and is also known as a cradle of both traditional and nouvelle Cantonese cuisine. Zhongshan cuisine has gone global as numerous Zhongshanese people traveled abroad. It has become an important emotional and cultural bond between folks at home and abroad.
Guangdong Cuisine Enjoyed All Over the World: Delicacies by Zhongshan Master Chefs is a short video series guided by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, directed by the Zhongshan Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau and produced by the Zhongshan Broadcasting and Television Station. The series involves four Cantonese cuisine masters in Zhongshan, namely Zheng Yaorong, Mai Guangfan, Lin Kaisheng and Li Xiaorong, to showcase the history and culture of Cantonese cuisine in Zhongshan, reveal the secrets of preparing special Cantonese dishes, and record and inherit the originality and ingenuity of Cantonese cuisine masters.
